Treatment Options? I recently injured my ankle (the physio believes I have bruised my heel bone), but with pain relief, physio treatment and by supporting the ankle by bandaging it I was able to continue my day to day life. This morning I woke up with a tingling sensation in my big toe, this has gradually spread through to several other toes, down the left inside section of my foot and down to my heel. The pain has dramatically increased to the point where I can not do anything. I am seeing the physio this afternoon, however I honestly doubt she will be of much help and therefore am looking into different treatment options. I have had acupuncture on my foot before, however due to my needle phobia I would prefer if I did not have to go through with it again. I was thinking about laser acupuncture, and will defiantley look into that. Does anyone else have any other ideas? I am seeing a doctor on Thursday, however I dont really want to wait until then as it is imperative that I return to normal, day to day life, as soon as possible.
What are some good treatment options for asthma? I'm 90% sure I have asthma, though I haven't been to the doctor to confirm it yet (I have an appointment for later this week). I hate taking medicine of any kind, for any reason. I don't take pills when I have a headache, and I don't usually take antibiotics when I'm sick either, I like to let things work themselves out. (I'm not asking for a lecture on that subject, so don't even bother.) I'm sure I could discuss this with my doctor, but I'm thinking she'll probably push some sort of generic medication, as doctors typically do, so that's why I'm asking here. Other than pills, what are some good treatment options for asthma? Oh, I forgot to mention that a friend of mine suggested that placing eucalyptus in my room might help a bit. Does anyone know if that's true or not?
What types treatment options are there for back pain and muscle spasms? I get severe muscular neck and shoulder pain along with muscle spasms in my lower back. It's not an everyday thing, just every few days I will be really stiff. I was taking Mobic for inflammation for my knees, but my doctor gave me the OK to stop taking that about 5 months ago. I wanted to know if there is any treatment options besides taking a daily medication or going to the chiropractor. Thanks!
Does anyone know of treatment options for a kitten with Hydrocephalus? my kitten has hydrocephalus, been on omeprazole (sporatically) and prednisone. Both adjusted to his weight...now he has developed tremors. Is this the disease or the meds? Are there other options for treatment? I have hand raised this kitten since birth, he is happy, he isn't in pain. If the pain was there, I would put him down. But with the help of my vet and the neurology vet clinic we have come up with this option to control the level of fluid. I was just wondering on other options. Putting him to sleep, is not an option at this point.
Tell me more about liver and lung tumors, how many types of cancer, treatment options? My mom just found out that she has type II diabetes, 5 or 6 tumors in her liver and 5 or 6 tumors in her lungs. They did a liver biopsy on Fri. and they're doing a MRI on Monday of her brain and a bone scan and mamogram also. They also want to check her colon. Is this serious? She had cervical cancer about 18 years ago and had surgery to remove it. How many types of cancer and what are the treatment options for her condition. Thank you.
If my HSG results are bad, then what are my treatment options? I have been TTC for 16 months & have done 3 rounds of Clomid. I am having an HSG dye test on Monday to see if my tubes are blocked. If they are, what can I expect them to tell me? I mean what are the treatment options if your tubes are blocked? Having IVF be my ONLY option is my WORST NIGHTMARE! We CANNOT afford to have even 1 round of IVF!
What are the treatment options for Congestive Heart failure? My father, who is 73 years old, has been diagonised with CHF, old anteroseptal MI, with severe LV dysfunction. The LV ejection fraction is found to be only 30%. He is also a diabetic for the past 13 years. I would like to know whether there are any surgical options like pin-hole surgery etc to improve the heart's pumping efficiency (or) Is it sufficient to take medicines with controlled diet and activities?
What are the treatment options for ephedron users? I am speaking of someone who buys ephedron pills at the drug store and has used them for the past 10 years to give him more energy and to help him stay awake when working long hours. What are the treatment issues to pay attention to?
What treatment options are there for a torn meniscus? Almost 3 weeks ago I hurt my knee running. One doctor I saw told me it was a bone bruise and one told me that it was prepatellar bursitis, but I saw somebody in sports medicine last week who told me that what I was describing sounded like a meniscal tear. I had an MRI to confirm and the results indicate medial meniscal intrasubstance degeneration which may or may not be a tear. It's quite painful when I walk, it pops, and the joint line is very tender. What are my options in terms of treating this? I'm in my 20s in case that makes a difference. I assume the basic scenario is surgery or conservative tx. I'm terrified of both the cost and the prospect of even minor surgery but this injury is making me quite miserable.
What treatment options are there for a dog that gets anaphylactic shock without going to the vet? I have a yellow lab puppy who is allergic to bees, we discovered this yesterday when she swallowed a bee and went into anaphylactic shock. I live an active lifestyle and my dog is my partner for outdoor activities that often take us out of cell coverage and far enough from the car that it can take a couple of hours to get back. Carrying a full grown lab that far would not only not be possible, but she'd likely not survive by the time I could get to help. If there is something I can keep with me on these trips so that if she goes into shock I can get her through undamaged and alive I need to know what it is. If I can give her some sort of treatment, then sit with her until she's able to continue at a reduced pace back to civilization that is definately preferable to losing her or discontinuing our activities for fear of losing her. Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. --Thanks have a yellow lab puppy who is allergic to bees, we discovered this yesterday when she swallowed a bee and went into anaphylactic shock. what are the treatment options for Low back pain? I am diagonised with Low Back Pain about 5 months back. I am taking pain releiving tablets and gel for local aplication apart from LS Belt. After 3 months of wearing the belt, my doctor advised me to discard the LS belt and practice physiotherapy. But without belt, if I bent or lift moderatly heavy articles, I get pain in the lower back. I want to know what are the other treatment options? In future, if it is not diminished, will I need to undergo surgery? I used to ride two wheeler by wearing the belt. My job is office job, computer related, full time. I have got other diseases like Depression, Anxiety,Hypercholestrolemia, Asthma, Allergic Rhinitis and GH. Will any doctors or experienced patients may answer my question.?
What are the treatment options for pitting edema in the lower extremities? I have tried elevating the legs but this isn't always possible especially at work. Have a stent in the left coronary artery; on blood pressure medicine and aspirin regimen. Also bipolar disorder recently diagnosed. Taking Lithium and Risperdal. Also taking famotidine for stomach pain. Just worried that the edema is cardiac related and worry about Congestive Heart Failure. Heart problems are very predominant in family history.
What are some good treatment options for gout? I've had battles with gout off and on for a couple of years. I don't know why but the attacks always get worse when the weather warms up even a little bit. I never have an attack in the winter. I quit drinking so that should help. I haven't seen anything about drinking soda but I swear that when I drink soda my gout gets real bad. I can't take antiinflammatory drugs and this other medicine I've taken in the past takes the pain away but makes me sicker than a dog. The only thing that seems to help is cherry juice but I can only find it at the health food store for like $16 and it only lasts a couple of weeks. The cababage leaf thing was nasty and didn't do anything for my foot. I've had gout so bad I couldn't even walk from my car to the pharmacy to get my medicine. My question is what else works? Do I have to drink the actual cherry juice or could I take some sort of capsule? If you've had gout what has worked for you to prevent or cure the symptoms?

Fertility Treatment Options? I have been using Clomid for some time now, but I do not feel Clomid may be the right option for me. Can anyone tell me what might be the best "next step" toward more aggressive treatment? Or perhaps what the options typically are after treatment with Clomid?
Does anyone have experiece/know of treatment options for chiari? Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with chiari and knew of any treatments. My boyfriend (he is 20) has just been diagnosed with the disease (has off-and-on, mild to severe headaches) and friends and family are trying to find out as much as possible. He has seen a neurosurgeon, but he said the only option was surgery, with a bovine skull replacement, or just deal w/ the headaches (unless neurological signs begin). It seemed like a pretty hollistic view. His mom has already found out the bovine skull is not necessary for the surgury. He is going in for a second opinion in LA and have a MRI of the spine as well. I was just wondering if anyone else had experience with this and knew of other ways to treat it? Some of the info is vague, I'm not sure if it is type 1 or 2, and the cyst is about 4 cm large right now :/ Thanks so much in advance, and any help is greatly appreciated! The headache's are in the back, left side of the head, and it is like a sharp pain that is concentrated in a line along his head that goes to the top (I don't know if that makes sense). It began about two weeks ago and at first he had a sudden loss of vision and confusion (like being hit on the back of the head) and it began to hurt from then, so I think it is from the cyst, and the cyst is fluid filled. Sorry, the question details above only allowed for so many characters.

Treatment options for severe disc narrowing L2-L5? I recently had an MRI and it revealed the above and also said I had loss of lordosis. I go see a neurosurgeon in 2 days. I also have 2 bulging discs in my lower back. All of this refers to my lumbar spine. Does any one know what the treatment options are for this? Surgery? I"ve been having back pain for a while and I'm 24 years old. Thank you. My MRI says...... "Severe loss of disc height at L2-3 and L3-4. Loss of lumbar lordosis. Treatment options availible for 100% carotid atherosclerosis? My uncle has 100% blockage of the carotid artery that led to a stroke several months back. The doctor notified them that surgery is not an option to remove the plaque, however as far as I know has not yet notified them about any other treatments. Are there any availible, such as medication or dietary supplements? I would prefer something proven in a study, not something with an unevaluated statement printed on the bottle.

Hyperthyroid/Graves Disease treatment options? I am 24 years old and have recently been diagnosed with this condition after starting to display symptoms of it three years ago. I discussed the treatment options with my doctor and while I know that I've got to do something about it, all three options that he mentioned sort of scare me. I do not want to make any sort of hasty decision and give the okay to eliminate an important organ from my body forever, but I also do not want to take a chance on a treatment that could produce negative effects. Is there no completely safe way around this? I have been shown to have an overactive, enlarged thyroid with no nodules. My doctor wants me to go through with RAI, but I do not look forward to becoming hypo. Is there no option that could just make me normal again, instead of trading one extreme for another? =(
Are there any other treatment options I should know about? My son is 3 with rhabdomyosarcoma and is on his second plan of chemo for his type of cancer. Doctors have told me that if his body rejects these drugs they don't know what else they can do for him because of the location of the tumor which in the jaw area. The tumor has grown so big that it has attached to his tongue. He can't do anything by mouth as far as eat, drink, or swallow his own saliva he also has a treach because the tumor has compressed his left windpipe.HELP PLEASE!!!!

What are the best fertillity treatment options for multiples? My husband and I have been TTC for 15 months and are thinking about fertillity treatments as an option. We want a big family and would love to have multiples. So, if we are going to use fertility treatments which ones will increase our likelyhood for multiples the most. Multiples is not the goal. Having a (single) baby is. But if multiples did occur we would not be against, because we understand how draining the process of fertility treatments are and we want more that 1 child so if we happen to have more that one at once, meaning less treatments in the long run that would be a good thing for us. I also fully understand the consequences of all of multiple. That however was not the question so if in the future people would just answer the question, not judge the person asking it, it would be greatly apperciated.
Treatment Options? lab has Itching on back legs? My lab has itching on his back legs. The vet says it could be a parasite, allergy, of heart worm or a type of fungisite I think. Do you think I could just try the shot, and see if it clears up. Could this hurt him if he doesnt have it. The medicine is called revolotion or something. Please help me, give me some advice.!
Neuralgia patients only: What treatment options have you tried for Trigeminal and/or Occipital Neuralgias? I tried Tegretol XR, Neurontin, Lyrica, and finally microvascular decompression surgery for Trigeminal Neuralgia. I needed two more surgeries last year because the titanium plate they put in my head kept shifting. I then developed Occipital Neuralgia from the other surgeries. I recently had the Occipital nerve severed to take away the pain. I continue to have extreme pain in my eye and I'm told that the first surgery may only work for 3-5 years.
Bipolar treatment options? What can I do to get treatment for bipolar disorder if I don't have insurance? I used to have medication and therapy regularly, but I am no longer on my mom's insurance policy. My employer offers insurance, but it costs WAY too much. what are some fertility treatment options? cost? I have pcos. Hubby and I have been trying for 3 years now to get me pregnant. We don't have insurance that covers treatment. However, he has a little in flexible spending and I am about to start a flexible spending account. I am just curious about the costs of some treatments. I want to put enough into flexible spending to cover most, if not all, of the treatment. Any help would be appreciated.
HPV genital wart treatment options and scarring? I want to get a wart on my penis removed with minimal scarring. The doctor I went to today wanted to put acid on it, but I've heard of laser treatment. This doctor says he doesn't use laser, because it's too expensive. Money is no object to me when it comes to trying not to have a scarred penis... So I want a second opinion. I also know they can freeze a wart off, but that also leaves a scar. What is the best method? And is there anything a plasic surgeon can do to minimize the scar if I do get one? Thank you.
questions on other treatment options for bi-polar and depression? i am now 19. there are certain events in my life that i seem to "get past" i live with the outcome but im still hurt about it, they happened at age 13,15,17 and 18 (4 seperate events). ive been in therapy, been on meds since i was 15, seen psychologists, talked for hours on end, kept journals. my meds work great in the begining, while im getting used to them. but after a little while i get wierd side effects, jittery, neverousness, excessive sweating. i've even become allergic to one of my meds i was on for 8 months, just out of the blue. for someone who has had years and years of unsuccessful treatment, i was wondering about shock therapy. does it only affect the memory of the specific tramatic expierences? or does it affect my memory up until this point in my life? i know its not commonly used anymore so i was just wondering if anyone knows enough about it. when i brought it up with one of my doctors ive seen but he wouldnt tell me too much about it. i was diagnosed with depression at 15 and then by second opinion i was diagnosed with bi-polar at 17. other members of my immediate family have it aswell (mom and brother). i have been on lorazopam (ativan), robutional (sp?), celexa, zoloft, paxil, and imovane in the past.

Psych Evaluation and Treatment Options? I need to find a way to get a free or low-cost psychiatric evaluation followed by treatment. The evaluation must also be able to be made available for court, and I don't know if the free screening/experimental places will do reports for that. Does anyone know where I would be able to take the MMPI-2 for cheap or free in NJ (or a national organization), and where to find sliding scale mental health services? Thanks in advance for your help.
Compulsive overeating treatment options?? I'm a 15 year old female and I have been a compulsive overeater for at least a year and a half; I specifically remember when it began. I have done loads of research on this disorder and I am positive I have it--there's no question--and it is serious. I am not obese and techniquelly not overweight (5'5-5'6, 132-138 lbs.) and I get an adequate amount of exercise but I have gained at least 10-15 lbs. this past year all from binging. My life is controlled by food. I'm so unhealthy and I've never felt so awful in my life. My question is: I need help NOW--I can't keep trying to do it myself--but how do I go about treating it? I'm HORRIFIED at the thought of having to tell my mother about my problem to get serious treatment...You have no idea, it's my ultimate nightmare. Does anyone have any suggestions for me, please??? I'm tired of being a slave to food when I should be enjoying life as a kid!!

Is compulsive lying related to Autism ... also ... help with identifying others and treatment options? I have an Autistic friend in the UK. I just found out that he has lied about his age, due to a relationship, and hence, has completely made up 2 years of his life. He doesn't even know WHEN he's lying till sometimes 20 minutes later. He can't distinguish reality from fantasy. Could the compulsive lying possibly come from the Autism, because Autistic people are usually exceptional at ONE thing ... could lying apply? Also, he says he talks to people that aren't there .. it's not even him talking, he believes hes someone else, and has a conversation with himself. Multiple personality disorder? He was also diagnosed with anxiety disorder as a young child. He feels like a freak, a total nutcase, but I have assured him it's something he can't help. He wants to STOP lying, but when he can't even TELL when he is ... how can he?? What is the best way to treat this? Especially in the UK? What are his options .. and what other disorders could he possibly have? Ok ... he says he calls it autistic to save explaining, but yes he has Asperger's Syndrom which is an autism spectrum disorder. Hope that helps clarify.
Dog question: Thyroid problem? Medication-treatment options-experiences please!? Took my dog to the vet yesterday. The symptoms are a patch of bumps on his chin that will not go away after 30 days of 500mg Cephlaxin(2 pills 2 times a day). Vet recommended a Thyroid panel that will not be back for 10 days. Until then, we are continuing the antibiotics- and maybe for longer this time if thyroid is normal. Does anyone know what the treatment is IF there is indeed a problem? Any experiences to share? The dog is a 14 month old Rottweiler. 128 lbs- trim. The dog also hs excessive callusses on elbows and knees from hardwood floors- (he refuses a dog bed) The bumps do have a slight odor that the vet said was infection(i knew that and it was the reason for the follow up visit) He sheds and has dander alot too- In my opinion, but I have 2 dogs so who's to know.
