How long should you take off work after a breast biopsy? When I was 18, I had a biopsy and I went to work that afternoon. It wasnt really painful. I work with a lady who had a negative breast biopsy 2 weeks ago and she took off 8 days and still is not back. I think she is milking the system. What do you think?
How long do I need to recover from an excisional biopsy of the breast? How long will I need to rest after having an excisional biopsy? My surgery is set for this Thursday at 9 am. I am having a fibroadenoma removed from my right breast that is 2.3 cm. The surgeon's office said about 2 days. I have Thursday-Sunday off work. Will that be enough time?
How long does it take for a skin biopsy to heal? I had a skin biopsy done for my rash around my right lower abdominal area. I just had it done about 5 days ago. Obviously it's still not healed. But how long does it take to heal? It's an open wound about the size of a nickel (not a "punch biopsy"). Also, when can I start going to the beach? I have plans to go in a few days, and I was also wondering if it's safe? I always cover it up with waterproof bandages. Will that help?
How long does it take to get results after a biopsy? I am having a biospy of a soft tissue mass (on the back of knee) next week. How long does it take before they will know if it cancerous? It is a CT guided biopsy. If anyone could explain how the biopsy is done that would be great too! I would like to go in there a little prepared. Thanks!!
What are the effects of having laser hair removal and a colposcopy which resulted in a biopsy? I had a laser hair removal done on my bikini area in the morning and ended up having to have a colposcopy which resulted in a biopsy in the afternoon. I have been cramping badly and very swollen for the past week after the procedure. I went to see my doctor to ensure I was okay but she said I was just healing. Last night I was cramping so bad that I began to vomit. Today, I am still cramping but not vomiting. Should I be worried?
Any one know of other alternatives to a biopsy for possibly having breast cancer? My aunt has recently found a lump in her breast, and she went to her doctor and they said that she needs to do a biopsy immediately! My aunt doesnt like to go to doctors for anything at all, let alone this. Well, she heard of "another" way of finding out what it is without doing the biopsy. Has anyone heard of "another" way of finding out, and is it truthful? We all feel that the "other doctor" is just trying to take her money! Please help as her appt is tomorrow for this "other way"! Thank you so much.
Is it unusual to not have a fine needle biopsy of thyroid nodules before surgery? I have a cold thyroid nodule and my doctor wants to remove the part of my thyroid containing the nodule, biopsy it while I'm still under anasthesia, and either finish up the surgery if it's benign or remove the thyroid if it's cancerous. I asked about a biopsy before doing the surgery and he said it is too small for that to work. This is contrary to everything I've read.
How does a person with no money get funding for a biopsy in Maryland? Some states and hospitals have funding options. What does Maryland area have? This would be Severn Maryland. Person I am speaking about has a lump the size of a lemon in her breast and doctor does not know if it is cancer or not but it is growing very very fast. The surgeon will not do a biopsy without payment ahead of time. She has no insurance. I talked to medicaid personnel. They said that she would have to wait 30 days. Her mom and her went there on another occasion and it took 6 months! This girl may be in stage III cancer and .......?
Can you request to be put to sleep during a bone marrow biopsy? Please say yes. ;( Also, how likely would it be for me to have to have the procedure done if I'm going to the doctor to have my enlarged spleen checked out? And will they do other checks first like blood tests and cat scans and whatever? And, what anxiety meds can I take beforehand if I DO have to have the bone marrow biopsy? I know I shouldn't be worrying so much since I'm only going in for a checkup but still it's really scary for me.
Moles: biopsy = skin cancer? I went to a skin clinic to get my moles checked. The doctor said one of the moles had to be removed and took a biopsy on another 2 moles. I kept on asking him why he needed to take a biopsy of the 2 moles and why he didn't need to take a biopsy of the one he removed. I asked the doctor this 3 times and he kept on giving very vague answers, like "I just need to see if we need to remove the 2 moles." I wasn't really happy with the way he answered my questions so I booked in to see a dermatologist but the waiting period is 6 weeks! I will still go back to the skin clinic to get the moles removed if they need to be to avoid having to wait this long. So my questions are: Is taking a biopsy of moles a fairly standard procedure- or is it likely that I have skin cancer? One of the moles bled for 3 days after the biopsy- is this normal?! Why not take a biopsy on a mole that you say you think should be removed? Thanks for your help!
Biopsy, coloscopy, hpv and LLETZ? ok so i had LLETZ surgery in 2006 and all was fine, then i went back for a check up and they said i would have to have a Biopsy Coloscopy and watever else but after my first ever biopsy etc in 2006 before the surgery i didnt feel a thing and had no pain (6mnths after giving birth!) but this time i felt everything and needed about a week to heal... now i get clear discharge. I was wondering if thats normal after having two biopsy and coloscopys? i have to have LLETZ surgery again in March, should i be worried about the discharge since its been about 2wks since the biopsy coloscopy?
Biopsy for Bone cancer? I know what a breast biopsy is, because I am being treated for Breast cancer. BUT, I have recently heard of someone with Bone cancer (in the leg)...they are waiting for results of the biopsy. It's been over a week. How do they biopsy for Bone cancer. I understand, she is having some discomfort where the biopsy was performed.
Cone biopsy and premature birth? I had a large cone biopsy in feb 07 and we are going to start ttc in dec 07' Has anyone had a cone biopsy and then got pregnant? Did you carry to term or have a preemie ( or heaven forbid a late miscarriage ) any advice would be helpful. BTW leep is different from a cone biopsy so please specify if leep is what you are talking about...a cone biopsy is much larger and deeper.
Biopsy Question? Hi all, I had to have a karman biopsy/endometrial biopsy while I was miscarrying to determine if I had a normal or ectopic pregnancy (before I had miscarried they suspected one, and since I was miscarrying they wanted to know for sure) My question was, has anyone here had an endometrial biopsy and what were there experiences with fertility after? My doctor said everything was okay and I should have no problems in the future but I'm just nervous...
A question about prostate biopsy? My father who is 69 had a prostate biopsy last month and he is going to hospital for the results today. He had the biopsy done because his PSA was a bit high or better it went up quite rapidly in just a year from 5 to almost 8. Can this rise be just due to enlarged prostate only? Doctor said that my father has an enlarged prostate. Also I have read that the results of the biopsy can be very misleading because if they 'poke' an area of the prostate which is healthy, you will be told that there is no cancer when in fact they may be cancer in other parts of the prostate which have not been examined during biopsy. So where does this leave you? does he have to repeat the biopsy every 6 months or so? Thanks a lot for your encouraging reply, Bry C. It really helps at this moment! God bless you and take care.
How much does a biopsy in the neck hurt ? I found a small lump on the side of my neck a few days ago, and I'm going to get a biopsy done on it.. I go into hysterics when I get even a shot, because needles TERRIFY me. My question is.. how much pain will there be ? The lump is on the side of my neck, not in or around my mouth or in my throat.
Could my biopsy results be wrong? I've had one enlarged lymph node on the left side of my neck for about a year, didn't think much of it. 2 months ago, one right under it swelled. I had a needle biopsy done, negative lymphoma. Now I have a group of them (5) surrounding the initial one, one behind my jaw and both under my chin and base of my skull are enlarged. My MRI showed "numerous enlarged nodes" all over my body. I've done a CT Scan, MRI, gastric screening, lung screening, bone marrow biopsy, all ok. Now I'm scehdualed for a PET scan next week. I was sent to an oncologist who told me after all those tests, she isn't "convinced" it's not cancer. I have bad night sweats for about a week at a time that have come and gone for about 6 months. My white blood cell count last week was 1.5! Extremly dry itchy skin. My blood pressure has always been low, now it's so high I am on 3 different meds to control it. I have secondary raynaulds & positive ana. Could my needle biopsy be wrong? Should I have another biopsy done? My doctors are stumped too about the bone marrow vs. wbc count. I was told last week I am a "mystery". I was told I could have a node removed and re-biopsied (SP?) if I like. Could the new nodes be a reaction to the biospy? No swelling or reddness in the area though... After re-reading my post, I see what you mean! Sorry for the confusion! The MRI and CT scan both showed the enlarged nodes, but that was it. No liver or kidney involvement, no enlarged spleen. I'm in Houston, so I will take your advice and put to use some of the excellent cancer centers here. Thanks so much for you help on this. I appreciate your thoughts, since I can't think straight :-). Again, thanks... I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for your input and thoughts on this... I truely appreciate the time you took to read and reply to my situation. I will update after my PET scan on Monday. Hopefully I'll know something by next Thursday :-) Thanks again.
Abnormal Biopsy? I went to the doctor a few weeks ago to have a mole removed and they performed a biopsy. I just got the results and they said that it is not cancer, but the biopsy was abnormal due to abnormal cell growth. I have to return to the doctor for a wider biopsy. Any idea what this could mean?
Cone Biopsy Fear? I tested positve for HPV. I am waiting the results of my Pap that followed. ( I got screened for hpv out of fear when I found out my boyfriends ex had hpv) I am scared that I will then need a colposcopy and then a cone biopsy. I am scared to do so becuase I want to be able to have a child . Having a kid is the most imporant thing to me. I have read that a cone biopsy and or leep can possibly damage the cervix adn result in miscarriages. Is a cone biopsy 100% necassary? I would rather have a child right now and then even get a hysteroctamy, then have them remove precancerous cells and possibly never have a child from the damage! Are these procedures 100% neccesary to preform asap? I sometime don't like all this modern science... Cervical cancer usually takes many years.I am talking about precancerous cells and the time it takes to progress. You obviosly dont know much about my situtaion. Hpv is an sti not an std also.
Biopsy while pregnant?? Has anyone ever had a biopsy on their uterus done while they were pregnant? Im about 13 weeks now. The nurse just said I had an abnormal pap and I needed a biopsy on my next appointment...she didnt even explain to me what it was I had to look it up. But she did say they dont normally do it durring pregnancy they always wait if they can...but she said there's nothing to worry about. Anyone know what this might be about or if it can hurt the baby???

Should I cancel my biopsy appointment? I had a miscarriage in June, and at that time also found out that I have HPV. My levels came back really high and I have to go and have a coloscopy (biopsy) done on Monday, August 21st to test to see if I have cervicle cancer or not. My midwife's office called today to remind me of the appointment, and I asked if I should keep it because of the possibility that I may be pregnant, because I know she can't preform the biopsy if I was. I can't do a home test yet as implantation will most likely occure on or around the 22nd of August if I did in fact conceive. She said that she will give me a pregnancy test before doing the biopsy, but I am assuming that she is talking about a urine test, because if she did a blood test she would have to wait for the results to come back. Should I be concerned about having the biopsy not knowing if I am even pregnant or not, and do you think I should reschedule it? My midwife said that she WOULD NOT do the biopsy if I was pregnant, that is why I had to wait so long so that she knew that my last pregnancy was definitly over.
Biopsy 9 weeks pregnant? I am 9 weeks pregnant almost 10 weeks now, I am having a biopsy done tomorrow because my pap smear came back with "abnormal cells" so they think I might have cervical cancer...does the biopsy hurt? Can it harm my baby? Please help thanks :)
How long is recovery after a breast biopsy? Just for getting a lump removed, an exisional biopsy? Will it hurt alot? How long would it be before you would be able to go back to work as a cashier(sometimes involving heavy lifting)? To get a 3 inch long lump completely removed...so a lumpectomy I guess. Just curious.
biopsy help!? ok... my doctor wants me to get a biopsy of a mole I have that has changed half blackish in color... i was just curious - should I be concerned that it could be cancerous, or is this procedure? -and if you know, will the biopsy hurt? thanks!
TTC, had cervical biopsy on CD6 and confused about my CM? last month I had a 29 day cycle and the cycle length the previous 6 months was 26. Last month I found out I ovulated on CD16. I had a cervical biopsy done this month on CD6. Next day, I saw some grayish discharge followed with brown discharge till today, CD9. The discharge is also more than usual and looks more like EWCM, except that it has brown color. Is this normal with biopsy or am I approaching ovulation early this time. last month, it was creamy around this time. I'm confused if I should have sex or not, but doctor recommended not to have until a week after the biopsy. I don't want to lose any chances of becoming pregnant this month.
How much would a biopsy cost if i have no insurance? my boyfriend has a cyst or lymphoma under his left armpit. The Doctor told us he will need a biopsy done.He has no insurance.about how much would this cost out of my pocket? P.S- its the size of a ping pong ball.
liver biopsy concept? hi, i m madical student.i want to know about liver biopsy How it is done, and what instruments are used in it, what will be the position of patient & punture site for the liver biopsy. I will be very thankful if some one explain it to me and tell me any website that help me clear about this confusion
Cervical biopsy question? Lost some tissue pieces after? I had a cervical biopsy done last week and experienced something odd after and I was wondering if it was normal. After it was done, the dr told me to expect some coffee grain like bleeding/discharge (sorry tmi). But for the following few days, it was more like I lost some fairly decent size pieces of tissue (like flesh). Sorry again. maybe like 1 to 2 inches. But not much bleeding. She didnt mention anything about this and the only nurse that I can call is the OB nurse. But I'm not pregnat anymore (had a baby 3 months ago). Has anyone experienced this? It really worried me. I got my period like 3 days later so I'm not sure what the heck is going on now. It just seemed really weird being that I hardly even felt the biopsy. And what the heck were those "tissues"? I dont have them anymore.
How long for results of bone biopsy? I had a bone biopsy done on on my T11 vertebrae on Wednesday September 10, 2008. The doctors told me that they would not have results until Friday September 19, 2008. Does anyone know if that is how long it takes to get results.
Is it possible that doing a biopsy could cause a small problem to spread into a larger one? For instance, a mammogram is inconclusive, then the ultrasound shows a "suspicious finding" so now a biopsy is required to rule out cancer verses calcium deposits, which are probable nornal with age. (50) It just seems that insurance is causing doctors and hospitals to do more and more procedures these days than in the past. I think going in with a big needle could "cause a problem" that might not have been a problem to begin with. Am I old fashioned or what?
Does anyone know how much it costs to have a biopsy done? I may need to have a small portion near my ankle cut out and sent in for a biopsy. They are checking to see if dead tissue has spread from a necrotic wound from a brown recluse spider bite. I have no medical insurance and was wondering if anyone knows what this is going to cost to have the biopsy done and analized by a lab.
What does it feel like to have a percutaneous biopsy? Hi. I am scheduled to have a percutaneous biopsy performed on my left breast and I'm just curious and want to know if it will hurt and what it entails. My friend says it involves putting a big needle into my breast.
Has anyone out there had the wire localization excisional surgical biopsy before? I have to have a wire localization left breast excisional open surgical biopsy and I am wondering if anyone else out there has ever had one? If so, how painful is it? How long does it take? How would you describe it? Please email me back and let me know. Mine is scheduled for April 3, and I am really wondering what to expect. Thanks so much.
Can doctors find that a patient has HIV through a tonsil biopsy? I usually get tested for HIV once a year because I think it's an important thing to do. I'm going to have a biopsy done on a tonsil soon. I was wondering if they check for HIV when they do these? Or what exactly can they find when they cut out your tonsil? Thanks!
Kidney Biopsy and Lupus? My kidney doctor said i might lupus, but i don't any symptoms, only tiredness, but i think i'm just lazy..lol...anyways, so he's going set up an appointment to do a kidney biopsy. Does it hurt to get kidney biopsy. I can't take pain at all. I'm so scared.. And for those who have lupus, what changes did you do for your lupus? Do you eat different or exercise more? Thank You
skin biopsy cost?? I met my dermatologist today He said he will need to do skin biopsy if my rash doesn't get better with steroid ointment,he suspects psoriasis but I don't have health insurance does anybody know how much does skin biopsy cost without insurance?? please let me know thanks guys!!
Pregnancy with history of cone biopsy? I would like to know how many of those out there had a successful pregnancy after a history of a cone biopsy? I am almost 20 weeks, and over 7 years ago I had a cone biopsy. I continued having irregular pap smears with no indication of why they were irregular (NO hpv, std, or any other visible reason). Since the operation, I have had doctors comment that they were unable to tell I had the procedure. Today my OB/GYN stated that I need a level II ultrasound due to the cone biopsy putting me at risk for a short cervix. My next appointment with the OB is in 3 weeks, but my level II isnt scheduled until after that appt. ? Should I contact the office and push to have the Level II moved up. ? Is it possible to have no complications from the biopsy 7 years ago ? When should I begin to freak out and cry hysterically? Any advice greatly appreciated!
Skin biopsy? I have to go for a skin biopsy on my head because my hair is falling out. The doctor explained it to me but I was so shocked at hearing the word boipsy that I did not hear most of what he said. Has anyone has one before? Will the spot they do the biopsy regrow hair once it heals? Will it hurt? Any information will be helpful I am so nervous.
What is the percentage of bone marrow that is collected during a bone marrow biopsy? What is the percentage of bone marrow that is collected from the pelvic bone region during a bone marrow biopsy? I've already had a bone marrow biopsy done, and I am interested in becoming a bone marrow donor, as I already know what to expect -- in terms of discomfort, etc. From what I've read, 5% of bone marrow is taken from the pelvic bone region during bone marrow donations, this is why I am curious as to how much is taken during a bone marrow biopsy (is it more or less than 5%).
Cervical Biopsy, anybody had experence with these??? Hi Im from Ireland and I went for my Biopsy today, took 6months for this appointment to come by, but while i was waiting for this appointment , i had mild stage 1 of an abnormal smear test. today there were few changes, 6 in total and was giving a biopsy, told it would take 2months for the results dont know why, but when i come back for these and if need treatment to bring somebody with me, nothing else was said to me. Before i went for this, i was told if its nothing major they just give my lazor treatment right there and then but i got none, so im going take it as i have moved up the stages now, What is my chances of beating this, know of anybody who went through this and came out the other end still in 1piece?? greatful for all advice, thanks.
cervical biopsy? i had a cevical biopsy over a week ago, and i am still bleeding is this okay plus my period is due do you think it has coincide with the effects of the biopsy?
Ultrasound/biopsy instructions? I'm scheduled to have a biopsy on Thursday. The radiology receptionist told me a few things that I am needing to not do 48 hours prior to the "surgery." One was no asprin....but I can't remember the other rules. I will call tomorrow when the clinic reopens, but does anyone know the instructions you're supposed to follow before an ultrasound/biopsy?
lymph biopsy needle??????? Has anyone had a fine needle biopsy???????? hi, I have had a few enlarged lympg glands for about 10 months now. My questions are has anyone had a needle biopsy and if so how long does it take, does it hurt and how accurate is it? Where your results ok, how long did results take? Also if live in australia do you know what the cost roughly is? Ta and thanks for your answers in advance. the nodes are in my neck biggest one in the subnadular gland? has anyone has this and what could the causes be? Sorry for so many questions, but this test is new to me.
Breast biopsy? I had a mammogram done last Friday. I was called this week and asked to come back for another Mamo and an ultrasound. A large area was found and now they want to biopsy this coming Wednesday...I've pretty much been told to expect Cancer...Still laying on the table, it finally sunk in...I cried a lot and worried about the plans I'm going to screw up for my husband this summer. I haven't told him anything yet. My youngest son graduates from college in 3 weeks. I won't make any surgical arrangments before then. My husband already has the plane tickets for Vegas. He wants to celebrate his 60th out there this year, the end of June(we go a couple of times a year) ....can anyone tell me what to expect if this biopsy comes back positive...how soon do I have to schedule any type of surgery? The radiologist is already talking possible chemo and radiation...I'm so mind numb right now...can anyone help me with some info? I live in Richmond, Virginia
liver biopsy? Ok, at the age of two I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis of my organs. Before my parent’s knowledge of my illness, they did a liver biopsy to discern whether something was wrong with only it. They didn’t do anything to it, but when they sewed me together, it is kind of inside out of anything they do know-a-days. Was the biopsy necessary and is there anything I can try to make the scar less-noticeable? I would post a picture if I could but it won't let me. email me if you want a pic to see what I mean. oh and I had a relapse when I was 10 or 11. I am 15 now. how much would it cost to hide the scar. if anyone emails me, i'll send a picture
Prostate biopsy - chances of cancer? My husband has to have a prostate biopsy, are they doctors just being cautious, is this a fairly regular thing, or do they not do a biopsy unless they are pretty sure cancer is there? could it be negative and all be okay? he has already had chemo once for another cancer, 2 cancers in one lifetime would just be too much....
is a biopsy considered surgery for insurance reasons? My dr found a lump on my thyroid, so she did a biopsy of it in her office and sent it to the hospital. Now I get a 400 dollar bill from the hospital because the insurance didn't cover it. In my benefit package, it doesn't say anything about biopsies. but it says it doesn't cover outpatien surgery. is that the same thing? they paid for some of the dr's bill, but that wasn't much. they didn't pay for any of the test that was done on the biopsy. Aren't they supposed to tell you your insurance doesn't cover it before you do it? I dont' have that much money lying around to waste on stupid crap like that.
How risky is needle biopsy test? I heared you should not "touch" a tumor/nodule as this may become malignant (if this is benign) and start spreading, and that biopsy alone can trigger this... is this true? how do we know the benign nodule did not become malignant after 6 months from biopsy if biopsy showed it is benign? are we doomed to live in anxiety if we do not remove this (benign) nodule?
Could the biopsy for thyroid cancer be wrong? I had a FNA biopsy for a nodule on thyroid which came back as Papillary Cancer. I am scheduled for a TT next week! But the nodule has shrunk in size via ultrasound, No longer able to feel from outside as in begginning and I don't have a lump when I swallow anymore. Could the biopsy be wrong? What would you do? Would you have the TT?
Advice on Biopsy on throat - possible cancer? Hubby is a smoker, also has acid reflex - and takes his medication daily. Last few years, during this time he gets a severe soar throat - diagnosed as sinus/allergies. Each year it gets worse. He has seen several doctors and finally this doctor is requesting a biopsy for possible cancer. He fears this because 4 other people he knows (including his only sister) all had cancer in throat and died. He says that once they had the biopsy, and air had got to it - the cancer had spread. He would like to know if there are any alternatives or methods that could be done. We remain to be positive on this. Please advise or tell of your experience. Thanks. I am sure it depends on what stage of cancer they are in at that moment. It is just one of things to be diagnosed of it for the first time.
can needle biopsy get benign tumor become malignant cancer? some people say this is a myth, but this makes sense as some tumors become malignant for some reason at some point. So if biopsy shows the tumor is benign u will have to repeat this biopsy (every month? as some malignant cancers can kill within 3 months like thyroid anaplastic cancer) to make sure it did not get malignant yet - so what's the point in this procedure unless u actually have malignant cancer in the first place?
Leep and Cone Biopsy? Hey my name is Angel, i am 20 years olds. at age 19 in Jan. of 2006 i found out that i had CIN2 so i had the leep done in April of 2006, all of my abnormal cells were gone. then in Oct.06 i found out that the abnormal cells were back. now at age 20 i found out the i have CIN2 again in Aug. 07. my doctor does not want to do a leep again because i don't have children and i really want them, but she also fears that i will get worse because it came back so fast. she said she wants to do a cone biopsy but the fact is that my cervix won't be able to hold a baby because i really don't have any cervix left. I really need to know if anyone has ever had a leep and a cone biopsy and didn't have kids, and was still able to have a baby with problems. please let me know this, i feel like im out here alone and everyone i know keeps steping around me like im glass and tell me everything is goin to be ok, and i feel like they didn't just hear what i said......Thank you all in advice Angel:-)

Cervix Biopsy?? The doctor told my cuz that she has HPV type 16 and 18. Even though the doctor told her that, can she still request a cervix biopsy or it's no need??
Excisional Breast Biopsy - what to expect? Hi, I'm having an excisional breast biopsy done next week - where they will completely remove a lump that was found 6 weeks ago. I was wondering what I should expect from this procedure? I will be under local anestheia. I have heard that this procedure hurts more than a regular core needle biopsy. I already know that I will be getting stitches put in but I was wondering about how painful I should expect it to be. The doctor said "mildly uncomfortable". I have heard those words before other procedures that have ended up hurting really bad. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. How long were you sore after for? Bruising? Scarring? Pain? Etc. Were you given any sedatives beforehand?
pregnancy outcome after cone biopsy?? did you end up with an incompetent cervix after a cone biopsy 9 not leep, not cryo - cone biopsy is different) did you need a cerclage? any info would be helpful!

wire localization open biopsy? I have to have this because there was a change in the clusters of calcifications in my left breast. My family doctor and the surgeon cannot feel a lump but the cluster showed up on the mammogram and after a spot magnification view and comparing mammogram films from 2004, it was decided that I needed this type of biopsy and that I would have MAC anesthesia which is like a twilight sleep. Does anyone out there know about this type of surgery and anesthesia? I guess a wire will be put into my breast prior to the actual surgery and I am not sure if anesthesia will be started before or after the wire insertion. I also woke up in the OR once several years ago when I had a heel spur removed. I did not feel anything, but could smell the cautizeration tool working. They put me right back out, but I have gotten heavier and older since then and am afraid that I will be in pain and unable to scream. I am very worried as I am raising my 5 year old grand daughter and I have to be okay.
Hep C Biopsy? If the Hep C is not active and the biopsy causes an infection will the infection cause the Hep C to attack the liver and become active. anyone have the biopsy done that can answer this question?

Question about Biopsy? my mom has been nose-bleeding for quite some time now...she was confined last year november and the doctors found no problems, but still she was admitted to the hospital for 3 days...then after a year of not nose-bleeding, this october, it started to bleed again...it bleeds like unusual 2-3 times a day ... she is not high-blood, no history of hypertension.... upon check up, the doctor (EENT) just concluded it MIGHT be some infection that's why the bleeding keeps coming back...but as the sound of it, it wasn't that negative but she also advised a CT Scan... she's under medication for 5 days and then will undergo CT Scan...after which the result of the CT scan will be the basis as to whether she needs to undergo biopsy... question... what is the process of nose biopsy? is it painful? my mom is 65 and she might feel nervous with the process? is it safe does it have an anesthesia so she won't feel any pain? how long does it take normally? answers are appreciated.. tnx
What if biopsy was mis-diagnosed? I had a red bump on the back of my neck that was very sore and had a crusty brown scab on it. The PA at my dermotologist's office took a biopsy and said that it looked suspicious, possibly a carcinoma. In fact, it had the classic signs of a squamous cell carcinoma. But when the pathology report came back, it said that it was a type of scoriasis and that was why I had so much itching. But I never had any itching with this sore and still haven't had any itching. Could it be possible that the reports were switched? The PA sort of laughed me off, but I have the classic characteristics for skin cancer (severe sunburns as a child, history of skin cancer in my family, fair skin and freckles). Should I just forget about this or ask for another biopsy?
Should my 68 yr old mom have an open lung biopsy to confirm whether she has cancer? My mom whos 68 may have lung cancer or lymphoma. She had a biopsy of her lymph nodes which showed no cancer but there was a mass discovered on her lung. She feels fine now and not showing any major symptoms to indicate cancer. The doctor thinks she should have a lung biopsy. An open lung biopsy sounds quite serious and mom doesnt want to go through with it as she fears it will deteriorate her health. So I am not sure if there is other options to her besides an open lung biopsy.
Cervical Wart Biopsy? My cervical smear showed evidence of a small wart at the outer area of my cervix which has been treated twice. It is likely that the biopsy has removed this wart completely. Please help me, I'm so confused! I didnt know a biopsy could remove warts?! what wart is it? is it a genital wart? I didnt get to ask the doctor questions about the wart because he didnt tell me and I've now just received a letter telling me it was removed! I didnt know i had genital warts! I've been tested for HPV and the results were negative! I'm so worried! But I've also read that warts can appear anywhere whether there sexually transmitted or not?!
Surgical Bipsy of Breast lump - Needle Biopsy B9? I have a 1.8 cm mass that I am scheduled to have removed via surgical biopsy - I had a core needle biopsy in December that came back benign - it was deemed an abscess. My dr. now wants to do a surgical biopsy and remove the mass - Could this still be cancer even if the needle biopsy came back benign?
clomid and endometrial biopsy? My husband and I have been trying to conceive using Clomid 100mg for the past 5 months and we keep getting negative blood pregnancy tests. My Dr. wants to do an endometrial biopsy on cycle days 22-24 this month to test the lining of the uterus. I guess this will allow her to see if and when I ovulated and to see how thick the lining is and to also test hormone levels. Has anyone had this procedure done? If so, how painful was it and did it surface any useful info. to help you conceive? Also, what was the next step for you after the endo.biopsy? thanks in advance!
Biopsy question? Have you ever had a biopsy done? How did it make you feel when you discovered that lump? How did it affect you spiritually? Did you pray to God or just grow numb? I had one done about a year ago on my neck. My doctor thought it was Lymphoma but it turned out to be safe. I was scared out of my mind. How did your's make you feel? Sometimes without thinking I catch myself rubbing the scar and checking for other lumps, but then stop myself and remember that it's all in the past. Have you ever had a time that scared you so badly you started thinking about things like guardians for your children?
how risky is needle biopsy test? I heared you should not "touch" a cancer as this may become (more) malignant and start spreading, and that biopsy can trigger this... is this true? if not, how do we know it is not true? especially when tumour is not malignant am i risking that it will become malignant after biopsy -- and that i will need to repeat this biopsy every (1 month?) to exclude this did not get malignant yet (the earlier u discover it is malignant the better, no?)
emg and muscle biopsy site? my daughter had an emg on her right quad and one month later a muscle biopsy on the same leg. I have since read you shouldn't biopsy the same leg the EMG was done on. I am wondering why this is?
Breast lumps and biopsy...? I have a small lump in my breast and my Dr. is going to do a biopsy. I was too stunned to listen to the details and have no idea of what is involved in this procedure. Aren't biopsies done by laser now? Is this a one day surgery? Any other details would be nice. I can't reach his office till Mon morn. and I am a complete wreck. I have had all the mammos and tests and poking and prodding. He gave me the news after all of this. Thanks everyone.
How is a biopsy performed on the skull? My mother has an area of her skull (bone) that has been shown to be inflamed via CT scan. She is wondering how a biopsy would be performed on the affected bone: by needle? Or by something larger, like a scalpel? Would the doctor have to shave a part of her head to do the biopsy?
biopsy on ovarian cancer? :My mother was told she has a large mass (tumor) on her ovary. She had a full hysterectomy in 1984. I don't understand how she can acquire a tumor there when they were both removed. I am getting a second opinion from another specialist. I was also told they couldn't do a biopsy to determine if it was malignant.because there is a greater chance for it to spread in that area of the body if it was malignant. My mother is 76, wheelchair bound from a stroke in 1999. I feel her quality of life is of real importance. I just want her to get well. Thanks!! What are you trying to say? SHE HAS CANCER!!
Biopsy showed CIN 3 last august but i was never told and am having treatment next month? i had my coil taken out last august at the same time so they could do the biopsy hence i have a six month old baby. i went back for a smear in nov 06 and it was normal. went to go for a smear last friday as i was told that was all i needed. no infact they informed me i had cin 3 and was there for treatment. i couldn't have the treatment then and there because my baby was there. i am confused and they have got me an appointment for next monday. i was on the understanding that cin 3 was the stage before cells turn to cancer. what do you think about all this? i feel like i could be facing cancer.
biopsy results? My mom had a biopsy done a couple of weeks ago on a lymph node. The dr. who did the surgery came out afterwards and told me that he was pretty sure it was benign. I didn't ask him...he just said it. They have to freeze it for 24-48 hours then test it again, and after that they weren't as sure, so they sent it to the Mayo Clinic. She had a dr's appointment last Friday, and they said they still haven't heard back, to call back Wednesday (yesterday). She did and they said they still haven't heard from Mayo. What does this mean? I would think if it were serious they would know right away, right? I know there's always exceptions, but usually if they take longer to get back to you is it usually less serious? Thanks.
BIOPSY on my 12 month olds BUTT!? Ok I have been having such a hard time with my daughter and her keeping rashes.... I took her to a new DR two weeks ago for her 12 month CK up.. and luckily (not saying its good that she got one) but she had a rash and that dr sent me to a dermatoligist. The dermatoligist looked at her and give her something called Fluninzole or something and told me to put mylanta on her but after each change. He made her another appointment for two weeks wich is monday and he said that if she still gets them bad then he will have to do a biopsy... What do yall think of this and what exactly will they do!?

biopsy procedure? I'm going to get a biopsy for my kidneys, has anyone done this before? How much pain is it?
Biopsy detects what...? Does a biopsy purely detect whether or not you have cancer or can it tell if the cancer has spread through your body.
