What is life expectancy of someone with malignant mesothelioma?
Stage 1...how long: Stage 2...how long; Stage 3...how long; Stage 4...how long?

- I looked this up and it said the average life span is one year but, I couldn't find anything on the length of each stage. I'm sorry you even have to ask this question.
- it all depends, generally, just like other cancers, the further the stage, the less the life expectancy. My father had it, and battled for 18 months, they were a little unclear as to his exact stage, but it had traveled to on of his lymph nodes. However, I know of people who were diagnosed over five years ago and still fighting the good fight. There is a great support group at acor.org on the email lists.
- My dad and uncle both had it. My dad made it about 2 3/4 years, and my uncle made it 9 months. I'm not sure what the different lengths of the stages were, but it is a very aggressive form of cancer.
