Obama got 82% of the Black vote...would Blacks have been this excited over voting for Condi Rice or Bill Cosby

Both are 100% black Americans. Dr. Rice grew up in the south and experienced racism firsthand. Through education, she ascended to high positions in the business and political world. She is a great example for minorities! Mr. Cosby is a famous actor, producer and writer. He is also an activist who encouraged and challenged the black community to combat illiteracy, poverty, crime and illegitimacy. He is a highly educated and talented black man and also a wonderful example and role model for minorities in America. Would either one of these fine black Americans have interested black voters (hypothetically speaking...i know they are not in the running)? PS...personal insults expose one's ignorance and inability to effectively articulate an intelligent answer.

  1. I dunno, but man I wish condi was running.
  2. I mean, yeah, all black people think the same...
  3. Not at all a black republican equals white devil. Don't you know that?
  4. yes...if condlezza was running I would vote for her.
  5. yeah ,i think so
  6. Condi, maybe, Cosby, no. But it is more than skin color because other Black candidates have never gotten this much support, even in the Black communities.
  7. yes...black people want a black president..period
  8. Is that because you think all blacks vote just because of race? Im black and im not even voting liberal!
  9. The Black Voters vote because they want to see a Black President. Doesn't matter if he has no plan B, C or D. Just as long as he talk with great passion and beautiful prose. They are Hooked, line and sinker.
  10. Condi Rice would have alienated a lot of Black voters by her membership in a Party that clearly does not have their interests at heart, and by her abysmal performance as both National Security Adviser and Secretary of State, positions she was handed so she could serve as tokenistic window dressing. Cosby is not a politican, and what's more, he is not aging well. I think he's getting senile. We've been there before, in the 1980's.
  11. No. There have been a number of Black Americans run for President who did not garner this level of support. Obama has gained support that the likes of Shirley Chisolm and Jesse Jackson were unable to gain.
  12. Condi... are you serious? I think the minority groups in Iraq wouldn't agree with you there. Obama has PRINCIPLES. Get over the color thing and vote smart Obama quote: I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of Al Qaeda. I am not opposed to all wars. I'm opposed to dumb wars
  13. NO The reason these two fine examples of Black America would not be embraced by their race would be the fact that these two would not use RACE to get votes. They would run on issues. I would vote for Condi because I agreed with her on issues - not because she's a woman like me.
  14. You are assuming that the soul reason they voted for Obama is because of his race. This implies that issues are not as important as the 'race' card. I beg to differ. It just might be because they prefer his policies, plans and message over Hillary's. To be fair, the same could be said about Hillary and the women's vote.
  15. Excellent question, and thanks for using black Americans instead of African Americans. I think that African Americans is a racial term that continues to hold black America back. The two examples you give are of those who have ascended past that racism. But to answer your question, I think they really would have. I know too many people, of many different colors, who are sick and tired of having to vote for really unintelligent, criminal, or unqualified candidates. I know I would have no problems with either of those candidates. And if either were to choose to run in the next election, black America would be overwhelmingly supportive, in my opinion that is.
  16. No, because you have black leaders such as Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson who proclaim that leaders such as Rice, Colin Powell, and Clarance Thomas are "not really black". They muddy the waters to slip between race and agenda so they can support only black candidates that fit their liberal agenda. Same reason the proclaim Bill a "black" president.
  17. Bill Cosby or Condi Rice are everything this country needs. They would be jeered at or ignored by the average black voter. We do not need Obama who is actually a disgrace.
  18. I am sure Rice would have... she has a political strong hold already. Cosby, on the other hand, most likely not, because of his age and lack of experience. It would have been a very ugly image the conservative media would make. :)
