What are the risk factors for mesothelioma?

  1. Almost all mesothelioma is caused by asbestos. Someone who's worked with asbestos is at risk, or someone laundering his clothes, etc.
  2. Mostly it is a rare disease that has been linked to asbestos, about 70-80% of them. basically it is workers who were either puting up insulation or taking it down without masks.
  3. Asbestos from the following sources... 1. Insulation (most common) 2. Concrete products 3. Cement 4. Brake linings 5. Flooring materials 6. Many types of textiles 7. Roof shingles A lot of times, people that work with those products, or more specifically, people that worked in the factories that produce those products, were often at risk of swallowing or inhaling tiny asbestos particles, which then lead to Mesothelioma cancer
  4. Working with asbestos is the major risk factor for mesothelioma. A history of asbestos exposure at work is reported in about 70 percent to 80 percent of all cases. However, mesothelioma has been reported in some individuals without any known exposure to asbestos.
